I'm a military widow, work full-time, and attend school full-time. I've been looking at colleges to transfer to for the 2011-2012 school year to finish my bachelors degree. What are the requirements to work as a pharmacy technician in CA or NV?
I'm moving in about a month and I was wondering if the states have any additional requirements. I am PTCB certified. I currently work in Maryland. Also, what is the average pay for CPhT's in that area? (within 2 hours of Reno, don't know exactly where yet.)

I personally do not like living in Reno; however, I know many people who love it. It depends on what your interests are. I came here for college from Las Vegas, and to me, it is just too small and rural. I'm not into a lot of the out doorsy stuff like hiking, mountain biking, skiing, etc. but someone who is would really enjoy their time in Reno. There is a ton of those types of things to do - in fact, Reno/Tahoe's nickname is America's adventure place. There are some fun community events like the rib cook-off and hot august nights, but those are only in the fall. Personally, I know that Reno is not for me, but it may be for you. Ask yourself these questions - 1. Would I prefer a Jeep or a BMW? 2. On vacation would I prefer to go to a National Park or Hawaii? 3. Jeans and a flannel or a little more dressy? If you picked a Jeep, National Park, and Jeans, then Reno is for you.

How to find possible social work internships or volunteer positions?
I am currently going to school to get my BSW (bachelor of social work) with a specialty in child abuse prevention and investigation. I tried to google child abuse non-profits in Reno, Nevada but cannot find anything. Where should I call to find some positions? Is there a government agency I can call? Thanks.

Reno or Los Vegas? which is better to move and find work? also whats the better UV?
Well I live in Elko, NV, and I cant seem to find a job here so im looking into moving to Reno Or Vegas, but I don't now if ones better than the other so Im mainly looking at the UV's for that UV=University, so if you could help by telling me how it is, and the job issue I would me most Great-full.

Vegas is not the place to move unless you have a job lined up. They are still laying off at all the resorts which transfers down to all jobs in Vegas. Unless you are in the medical field .. don't do it. Read the page below

Not sure about the UV's, or Reno, but I live in Phoenix, I have been to Vegas twice in the last 6 months looking for work in the Harley field. From what EVRYONE tells me, including the news, Vegas is HURTING BADLY from the economy. With people being out of work and not having the extra money for travel, etc, Vegas' tourism has dropped off majorly, hotels and casinos laying-off employees righ and left, even cab drivers are starving, I gave a cabbie a $50 tip on a $30 ride because he said as we were talking, he had no tips the entire day, I asked him how much he made daily without tips, he said depending on his fares for the day, he made around $40-60.....that ain't nothin'!!!...so I tipped him WELL and did my good deed for the day......SOOOOO......I don't think NOW would be the time to move to Vegas.

It depends. UNLV is good, but you want a job? Find a job before you move then decide. That's what I would do.

So it's Vegas for me. As far as schools go I'd pick Reno. Just my opinion. And it really depends on what you are perusing. I just think Reno is a better Academic Environment. I don't think most people who read you post have ever been to Elko.

Been here beginning of June, still no job. Not sure of the UV, never attended neither. Don't Elko have a Kmart? apply their! Vegas: Cab/taxi jobs, tourist industry, fast food, only the educated degree people get the high end jobs. that pay the most!

What can i do and where to do community service? or volunteer work?
I am doing a pageant. Well i just finished but i want to get ready for next year now, by doing some volunteer work or community service. This is in Nevada, i really cant leave my state to do work because i cannot get there. Mainly near reno, sparks area or Carson City. I really want to know what there is to do to help others. thank u.

usually a local church or youth group is always doing volunteer/community service. for instance, through my church i have restocked local needy pantries, cleaned and prepared a camp for future campers, picked up litter, fundraised for a local cause ect. ect. there's always volunteer workers whom are needed. also a shelter could be a possiblity. hope this helps

If you're picking up from the parents and they agree, the easiest and cheapest thing is a parental powers power of attorney.
2 :
Temporarily you can have the parents write a letter, then have it signed in front of a notary, and have it notarized. I did this when my minor sister came to live with me, just as a temp thing. We did end up having to have a copy of my fathers driver license as well to enroll her in school. But you should be able to file with the local court for temp custody.

I'm looking to become a loan originator. I have no experience and live in Reno,NV. I currently work from home and would like to be an LO from home as well. I have spoke with reps from many companies inculding NLC, MFG and HBW they all seem to be MLM type of programs or don't hire in NV. I am a fast learner and am willing to make an investment in the right opportunitty once I find it. I would appreciate any advice on other companies and even personal experiences with the companies listed above. Thank You.

No matter the market, or the industry, sales is a tough job. Keep in mind that 20% of the people make 80% of the money, which leaves 20% of the money for the remaining 80% of the salespeople. As for average yearly pay, it really depends. 5 years ago in Nevada, the average was probably above 100k, again, keep in mind that you had the top guys earning millions and the majority earning a few grand here and there. Sales jobs are either the most fun you have ever had and you make a ton, or the worst job ever where you starve. Good luck

About Any good deals in Reno as far as rent
Im thinking about getting into real estate but don't know much about it yet. My main concerns are what is the average yearly pay, and how many hours a week do you work? I also live in Reno, NV

No matter the market, or the industry, sales is a tough job. Keep in mind that 20% of the people make 80% of the money, which leaves 20% of the money for the remaining 80% of the salespeople. As for average yearly pay, it really depends. 5 years ago in Nevada, the average was probably above 100k, again, keep in mind that you had the top guys earning millions and the majority earning a few grand here and there. Sales jobs are either the most fun you have ever had and you make a ton, or the worst job ever where you starve. Good luck

Alcohol not only landed me in prison 5 years ago, but continues to plague my life. I need serious help. AA doesnt work. any suggestions? Reno, NV area is where i am located

Hello, The best advice I can give you is to look through your local listings (yellow pages) or perhaps seek consultation from a doctor or similar practitioner. Or perhaps you may try asking an employee at a hospital for a list of recommended rehab centres. Hope this helps and good luck. About Any good deals in Reno as far as rent
Any good deals in Reno as far as rent?
Me and my fiancee are having to move out of our current place in CA, so we thought maybe Reno would work. We can totally handle the smallest studio apartment available, and don't mind living in the "ghetto" if we have to. It's hard to find this info online, so does anyone rent for low over there? Any decently safe places to live for cheap?

You'll find that rent in Reno is cheaper than just about anywhere in California. For good deals on rooms for rent or apartments, I think Craigslist.com is the best for this town. The link is below. As far as parts of town, you'll find that the South part of Reno (for the most part) is a nice part of town with lots of newer homes and construction. The farther North and East you go, it can get a little shadier. If you have any question on locations feel free to email me. Good luck in your search and your move.

What is it really like to work and live in RENO? Is there a lot of work, are the people nice?
I have lived in Las Vegas for over 15 years, and I need a new start in a new place. I was thinking about moving to RENO. I don't know anyone there, but I think that a smaller city with the same type of work would be a start move. I would love to hear everyones answers even if it is not what I would like to hear. I have a 12 year old child. How are the schools. It is clean there, how is the traffic, please tell all you may think I need to know.

You should take a vacation there & look around. Go to the schools & ask your questions, look at the living choices & job choices. I know several people whom live in Taho & work in Reno... They like the schools in Taho, yet make better money in Reno. Good luck.

Before you move to a new place in a different state, you should take a vacation down there and make sure you like it first. You also need to know if there are any opened jobs there for you. If you like it and there is opened jobs then I would starting applying before you come back home. You can't just move to another state and expect to get a job or having no money. I would check out the schools too. Good luck.

About why does the heater and a/c does not work in my Suzuki Reno 2006
why does the heater and a/c does not work in my Suzuki Reno 2006?
It only blows cold air no matter how long i try to warm up the car(i have trouble defrosting the front window too)...I bought the car this way thinking i can fix it. So i don't know what went wrong in the beginning. If you have any questions just post them here and i will try to answer them as best i can. thanks

It's probably just broken.

you see a knob or control switch with blue and red color ? move the knob/lever to red zone if you want hot air from blower. with AC button OFF. move the knob/lever to blue zone if you will use AC, then press AC button if still equipped with AC button, some don't have this button instead it comes automatically with the thermostat switch,(blue/red knob). if above won't solve problem, post question again

Im hoping to get a tattoo and came across this place. It seems clean and nice but has anyone recieved work from there and if so how has it held up? Were they nice? Has it faded much? How are the prices? The place is called Dixie Rose and is on South Virginia street in Reno Nevada.
